An Introductory Guide to Life Fibers
Jul. 9th, 2017 05:19 pm The material that I have access to from my own world is known as Life Fibers. In actuality, they are a form of microscopic alien life forms that came to Earth millions of years ago. For eons they lay dormant, waiting for a species to evolve that could provide them with sustenance. They form a symbiotic relationship with animals, enhancing dormant abilities while gaining sustenance from absorbing the bio-electric impulses given off by the host's nervous system. However, only humans evolved to generate enough energy without adverse effects on the host for the Fibers to bond with. It has taken my family centuries of research to understand as much as we do about Life Fibers, and I am sharing what I know with you. However, I do caution all who read this, that such sensitive information could prove catastrophic should it get into the wrong hands.
The most effective way for Life Fibers to gain the sustenance they require to grow is through physical contact with the skin. As such, Life Fibers have adapted to various forms of tailoring, as being woven into clothing was the ideal compromise. In my world, I run a High School that not only provides the top level of education for any students within its walls, but also serves to observe and examine the effects of Life Fibers. One of the earliest discoveries we made was that individuals often showed varying levels of affinity with Life Fibers, being able to withstand higher concentrations of Life Fibers without adverse effects, and that correlated with their natural talents and capacity for learning. As such, a system was devised to rank students based on their capabilities and pair them with uniforms with concentrations of Life Fibers that reflected their abilities.
One-Star Goku Uniforms:

A one-star Goku Uniform is given out to students who have average abilities and talents. Of their total fabric makeup, 10% of that is Life Fibers. Someone who wears a one-star uniform has their physical abilities enhanced 100%. Speed, strength, endurance, and even cognitive abilities are all amplified simply by wearing the uniform. Because of the low concentration of Life Fibers, these are by far the easiest to mass produce.
Two-Star Goku Uniform:

A Two-Star Goku Uniform is decidedly harder to create, made up of 20% Life Fibers. Because of the increased concentration of Life Fibers, the wearer's abilities and bio signatures must be taken into account to avoid the wearer rejecting the clothing. However, the rewards for a properly tailored Two-Star Uniform are instantly notable. The girl pictured above - Omiko Hakodate - is the captain of the Tennis Club in the school I run. Despite her age, the uniform allows her to play on a level far beyond any professionals in the world. In fact, if she were to exercise her full ability, she could very easily use a tennis ball to punch a hole through solid metal sheeting.
Three-Star Goku Uniform:

While at first glance, the Three-Star Goku Uniform looks no different from a Two-Star, it is by far the most powerful brand of Goku Uniform that can be readily tailored. As the name implies, a Three-Star Uniform is comprised of 30% Life Fiber concentration, and confers similar enhancement abilities far above the Two-Star counterpart. Only four students in my school were determined to be strong enough to wear such uniforms. Not surprisingly, they were the four to join my daughter in running the school as part of the student council. However, when studying the abilities of a Three-Star uniform we made quite the shocking discovery. At a 30% concentration, the Life Fibers form what's called a Banshi. A single thread that gives the outfit a will to be. The uniforms themselves lack any true sapience on levels comparable to humans or even to dogs. However, the addition of a Banshi makes the Life Fibers within the uniform take on properties similar to what is seen in colony organisms, with the Banshi acting as a brain of sorts. While this does make the Banshi a sort of Achilles heel, the Banshi is protected by the rest of the uniform, and is microscopic in scale, invisible to the eyes of any human. However, when commanded, a Banshi can activate and reconfigure the uniform for greater functionality.

This is the 'activated' form of the uniform featured above. When in this form, the benefits conferred by the Life Fibers are doubled yet again. The boy who wears this particular uniform is Uzu Sanegeyama. According to records I've found, he was here briefly some time ago. At school he was the captain of the kendo club, as well as the chairman of the Athletics Clubs committee on the student council. When he activates his uniform, his skill and speed surpass what most people can perceive unaided.
Kamui:

Kamui are by far the most difficult uniforms to produce. In fact, there is only one true Kamui in existence, featured above. Junketsu, worn by my daughter, is an outfit made purely of Life Fibers. In its powered down state, Satsuki's already impressive skills are enhanced to be comparable to those of an activated Three-Star uniform. When activated, Junketsu confers unparalleled strength, speed, and skill. With a single slice from her sword, she could produce a shock wave strong enough to cut straight through a building half a mile away. However, such power comes at a cost.

Because of the nature of Life Fibers, a Kamui cannot maintain its activated form simply by absorbing stray electrical impulses through the skin. Instead it must be activated by consuming a small amount of blood from its wearer. Activated states cannot be maintained for long either, as the Kamui must continue to consume blood to fuel the power it generates. Likewise, in its activated form there is a chance that the Kamui develops something resembling an intelligence due to the proximity to the wearer's central nervous system. As such, I tailored Junketsu to have as little physical skin contact to limit any chance that it would unintentionally overtake Satsuki's body. The results of such overload can bee seen in the unfortunate incident with the Komeiji girl. The Kamui involved in the Kmoeiji incident was a shoddy fake, created by a half-baked imbecile. The 'kamui' hijacked the poor girl's body, and she was reduced to the basest of instincts, lashing out at anyone nearby like a wounded animal.
Like I said in the message I sent to each of you, however, Life Fibers can be utilized in far lower concentrations and even in non-clothing applications. An outfit containing less than 10% Life Fibers can be activated through a remote signal that forms a protective cocoon around the wearer, shielding them from any form of harm. Or, when utilized on their own, small threads of Life Fibers can be accelerated in an area to form a sort of force field that would reduce any physical object attempting to pierce the barrier destroyed on a molecular level. There are also medicinal applications, as a Life Fiber bandage would enhance the healing of any wound to be fully healed within seconds of application, and my research is undoubtedly only scratching the surface of what Life Fibers can do.
I hope this guide has been informative, and any questions or concerns can be directed to me either at my store in Nova City during business hours, or at home in the Kiryuin Manor, also located in Nova City.
